LP Scholarship/Mentoring Program – February 2022

We believe at LP at the core of our values system is investing in and supporting inner city youth and empowering them through mentoring and in support of their educational aspirations. This year in 2022 we are beyond thrilled to launch our first Student Scholarship Program through LaunchPad. We are investing the first $25,000 to support students in two schools in the ATX area: Success High School and Crocket High School. LP will be providing partial scholarship to 12 students (7 girls and 5 boys) for the Fall 2022 year as they pursue higher education or a vocational /trade school of their choice. LP has worked with the High School Academic counselor to identify the students. In addition we are teaming with a Professor at UT to help with tuition costs for 2 additional young men already enrolled in UT.

These young men and women are next generation leaders and although due to the inner city climate they live in and often times tremendous odds such as poverty, single parent home, trauma and or other environmental factors, they are smart, resilient and committed to pursue their education. We believe with the right mentoring, staying in school and hard work along with a lending hand in support they can achieve anything they put their mind to do! As part of this effort we will also be tracking their progress throughout their first year in school and providing mentoring /encouragement on a regular basis to these young men and women that enroll in our program. This mom, shown here with her son in her language of Swahilli said it best to founder, David (interpreted by her son) “I don’t even know how to express my gratitude for what you and your wife are doing for my son, from the bottom of our heart my God bless you for caring”…..
